If your Mac is 2010+, then you may be able to upgrade to a newer version of macOS where the latest release of Thunderbird is still supported. Here is where you can get older versions of Thunderbird (this is the developer's site for official downloads), but you will need to figure out what the last version is compatible with macOS 10.11 (I know Firefox stopped supporting macOS 10.11 a couple years ago so I assume the same for Thunderbird): A possible solution is to manually edit the Mozilla Firefox download link: For example: Version 78.13.0 / Windows 64bit / en-US For example: Version 68.12.0 / Windows 64bit / en-US For example Version. Only Chromium based web browsers are still supporting macOS 10.11, but I don't expect this to last much longer either. You are better off using a browser based IMAP email so you can use a standard web browser to access the email. Even if an old version of Thunderbird still works to get your messages will it even be able to display them? It probably won't work for much longer anyway. The Internet is constantly changing so old apps based on browser technology quickly become out of date. You won't be able to use the latest version since Thunderbird requires at least macOS 10.12+.Įven if you can find a version to download, it probably won't work because it uses browser technology to work.

If you’re interested in a travel-friendly blender, the KACSOO SPOW Single-Serve Blender may be your pick. To conclude, we think this is the overall best single serve blender out there. This machine is backed up by an impressive lifetime warranty, though it doesn’t cover the blending cups and you will have to pay shipping fees. In testing, we found that the gaskets are lower quality and may need to be replaced fairly often, and purchasing replacement blades can be expensive. With no larger pitcher, the BL456 won’t be able to double as a full-size blender, so it will work best if you only blend small amounts. The package includes 18- and 24-ounce blend-in travel cups with twist-on lids, which are conveniently made of BPA-free, dishwasher-safe plastic, plus a 75-recipe cookbook. It has just one speed and no automatic settings, so although you won’t be able to customize your settings, it’s incredibly easy to use. This streamlined machine, which weighs a compact six pounds, has a strong 900-watt motor with stainless steel blades that easily crush ice. Our favorite single-serve blender is the Ninja BL456, a lightweight, attractively-priced model with plenty of features and a powerful motor. Self-reactive substances and mixtures – Type B* The WHMIS 2015 signal words and hazard statements for flammable gases, aerosols, liquids and solids are: Hazard Class and Categoryīelow are the signal words and hazard statements for the other WHMIS 2015 hazard classes and categories that are assigned the flame pictogram. What signal words and hazard statements are used? Back to top When flammable products burn, hazardous gases and vapours can be produced (e.g., carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide and nitrogen oxides). You also need to consider the potential for hazardous thermal decomposition and combustion products. Once the vapour ignites, the flames or fire can “flash-back”, meaning that the flames travel back to the container or source of the flammable liquid and an explosion can occur. In this case, the vapour can spread a long distance along the ground or floor and eventually be ignited by a distant spark, flame or other source of heat. Flashback – the vapour of most flammable liquids is heavier than air.Release of the static charge from the liquid can ignite flammable products. This charge can occur and accumulate when flammable liquids are poured, pumped, filtered, agitated, stirred or flow through pipes, and these actions can act as an ignition source. Accumulation of static charge – static electricity is the electric charge generated when there is friction between two things made of different materials or substances. Back to top You are here: How to Work Safely with - Hazardous Products Using the "Flame" Pictogram Multiple brothers told me they might not have spoken so openly had the discussions included others outside of Sigma Chi.īut we only provided non-fraternity perspectives through readings and videos, and in more difficult conversations, this was incredibly limiting. This made it easy for us to establish trust and honesty, as we could all relate to each other and felt more comfortable sharing sensitive experiences. In formulating the discussions, the most difficult challenge was achieving two goals simultaneously: how do we provide a safe space for men to be open and willing to share our thoughts and experiences while also bringing in different perspectives to challenge what we’ve been taught?īesides two male professionals from YWCA Evanston, Antonio Rice and Brian McHugh, all of the discussion participants were fraternity men, and almost all of them in Sigma Chi. Five fraternities is not enough, and by all means, if you would like to implement these discussions or something similar in your fraternity or any other organization, please reach out to me at. In the rest of this article, I will discuss our main takeaways from last quarter and the challenges still facing us. I am leaving because I have found support in them, not in Sigma Chi itself, and I do not wish to fund the harmful activities of our chapter. I still consider myself part of the Greek community, which has shaped much of my college experience, and I will remain close with the friends I made. Personally, I have decided to leave Sigma Chi and focus my efforts on coordinating discussions across fraternities. The spring and fall discussion curriculums. The second document shows the updated schedule for fall quarter, which new discussion leaders in five fraternities will be implementing in their own chapters: Sigma Chi, Phi Delta Theta, Delta Tau Delta, Pi Kappa Alpha and Phi Kappa Psi. The first document below shows our schedule, which we intertwined with programming for Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April. I also hoped to educate men on how others perceive our attitudes and actions, with the goal of increasing empathy and consideration, not stubborn defensiveness. My goal was to create a recurring space in the fraternity that previously didn’t exist, encouraging men to reflect on cultural ideals of masculinity and question these norms, gaining necessary communication skills in an open, honest environment. last spring quarter, I led discussions in my fraternity. So, every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. I wanted to push my fraternity to become more self-aware, and realize how our culture, although seemingly harmless to us, is in reality leading to harm for others. This leads to sexual violence, and every day, men participate in the culture that upholds it. Most men are taught certain ideals of masculinity and sex, and we act off these teachings, or lack thereof: We draw false assumptions about sex because porn is our only guide, we fail to properly communicate with sexual partners because we do not know how, we feel pressure to have sex to boost our self-worth, or we end up drinking too much and making decisions we would not be proud of when sober. But we have not reckoned with the implicitly disgusting behaviors that can be so much more pervasive – the times when others find men weird, creepy or entitled – and not everyone believes that these underlying behaviors are harmful. The Me Too Movement has largely forced men to reckon with our explicitly disgusting behaviors, and I don’t think most men still believe these are permissible (unless, maybe, you’re up for a Supreme Court seat and that was years ago). But impact is more important than intent, and even though we don’t know it, we often cause trauma, emotional pain or discomfort in sexual or social situations. We may not consider ourselves physically violent, and I don’t think we usually intend to hurt others. Men rarely see how we contribute to sexual violence. Source: Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse In that case, however, we had a good idea the end was coming. What’s the point of a streaming box that doesn’t work with Netflix or Hulu?Īlso last year, Google issued the final security update for its original Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. In November, the company announced that the Roku 1 and the Roku 2 wouldn’t get any more support from the company, which means they could become a security risk and they also won’t be able to handle the new versions of crucial apps. Last year, a similar case played out with Roku’s original media streaming boxes. The public uproar from Sonos users should linger in the memory of any company building a smart device in 2020 and beyond. Every connected device you own is headed for a similar-or probably worse-fate, eventually. If they were yogurt, you wouldn’t get sick from eating them, but they would probably taste a little sour and kinda chunky. So, those old Sonos speakers aren’t necessarily past their expiration date, but more their “best when used by” date. Sonos currently pledges to support its devices for five years after it stops manufacturing the speaker. That part sounds hard to accomplish without creating an extremely clunky user experience, but it’s an improvement, at least, from simply allowing products to suddenly descend into obsolescence. Sonos, however, still didn’t promise to make old and new devices work together, but rather committed to building infrastructure that will allow legacy tech to work on its own network. Two days later, the company walked back its policy and promised to keep security updates and bug fixes flowing to old speakers. Even with some of the products on the list being 14 years old or more, users were understandably unhappy to find out about their gear’s unceremonious end. A Twitter campaign targeted the company’s social media accounts and honed in on the company’s CEO. Having an unsupported speaker would mean that the whole system won’t get the new features and upgrades-the chain is only as strong as its oldest speaker. Sonos speakers typically work as part of a system to which users can add components as they want, need, or can afford them. This collection of speakers, amps, and subs came from a time where wireless audio was expensive and smart speakers didn’t live in every room of your house-we even gave it a Best of What’s New award back in 2004.Īccording to the original plan, posted and emailed to product owners this past Tuesday, Sonos intended to stop the flow of updates to the original Zone Players, Connect, and Connect:Amp (launched in 2006 includes versions sold until 2015), first-generation Play:5 (launched 2009), CR200 (launched 2009), and Bridge (launched 2007), which means no new software features, but more importantly, no more security upgrades. This week, connected audio company Sonos announced that it was ending official support for several of its earlier products.
